Contraception

New options in birth control have become available, as well as effective replacements for previously used contraception practices. The Mirena IUD (intrauterine device) gives the patient a birth control option that lasts five years. It also helps to control heavy menstruation. In the past, surgery was often the solution for problematic periods, but with the use of Mirena, patients are able to receive treatment without surgery. Traditional birth control methods are also available from Northeast OB/GYN.
